Newcastle Culture Choice Hub

Funded by and in partnership with Newcastle City Council, the Hub is a 12-month pilot project ran by Arcadea that will establish, or identify, meaningful cultural activity for Learning Disabled Adults and Young People living in the city.

The initial aim is to provide 100 people with the opportunity to participate in at least ten workshop sessions each. Working with existing providers, such as the Sage Gateshead, the Baltic, Northern Stage and Dance City we will map the offers, both inclusive and exclusive, currently being made and if needed work with these organisations to develop further their provision.

Alongside this work we will identify community based settings that would be willing to act as partners in establishing both inclusive and exclusive cultural provision for Learning Disabled People. Here we will we aim to establish activity that will be ongoing, challenging and provide a gateway to centre involved.
